The Cedars

The Cedars is a non-profit senior living community located just minutes from downtown Portland. But, The Cedars didn’t spring to life as a full continuum of senior living opportunities – it developed as three unique residences, now connected physically and programmatically. The sum of these three residences is now a single community that offers the best possible lifestyle.

Since 1929, The Hoffman Center has set the gold standard for rehabilitation and health care. Recently the bar was raised again, with the opening of the new Samuel L. Cohen rehabilitation center and gym. Each year the center helps over 800 people return to wellness.

70 years after the founding of the organization, The Atrium at The Cedars opened, offering an exceptional active lifestyle for those over 65. The Atrium, named for its elegant, three-story, sky-lit performance and gathering space, offers members spacious apartments and a maintenance-free lifestyle. Services like housekeeping and dining in two on-campus restaurants free members to enjoy a wide range of programs and events as well as the pleasure of each other’s company and friendship. The pool and wellness center are part of the exceptional Six Dimensions of Wellness program that permeates life in all of The Cedars’ neighborhoods. Atrium members have priority access to any care they might ever need.

The Osher Inn, the connecting neighborhood between The Atrium and Hoffman Center, offers assisted living in thirty beautiful new apartments, as well as lovely dining and community amenities. The Inn opened in the summer of 2008 and offers a light-filled restaurant, fitness center, recreation room, study with fireplace and a therapeutic sky-lit whirlpool spa. Residents receive assistance with the activities of daily life as well as medication management, based on a Personalized Wellness Plan.
